Kindred spirit

"Our universe grants every soul a twin- a reflection of themselves-a kindred spirit- and no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another..." Julie Dillon

When I took this I thought about connection, the connections to others, but also the connection to our surroundings and environment. Kindred spirits. Connections are what keep us grounded and help us stay well.

It will come up as I continue to blog so best to introduce it now, I have a mental illness. Elephant out of the bag. I have seasonal affective disorder (also known as SAD often called seasonal depression). My disorder takes on a bit of a different element than most others with it as it takes on a equally impactful dynamic in the warmer months. In essence my seasonal disorder mimics bipolar disorder, just that my lows are predictable and in the winter and my highs are predictably in the summer. It is easy to feel lonely when you has an "issue". You assume that it is you alone going threw this struggle, but you are far from alone in this battle! You have kindred spirits out there.

Depression makes one blind,in essence, to the real world and unable to see with clarity all those that share the same path. Mania leaves one too unfocused to notice the real world or follow the path. Both the lows and the highs are jarring to a sense of belonging. It is important to remember that we are never as alone in this world as we may feel.

"Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world." Anne( Anne of Green Gables)
